Lewis Evans appointed Director of Rugby at NHSOB

Newport High School Old Boys are delighted to announce that Dragons stalwart Lewis Evans has joined the club as Director of Rugby.

Lewis, alongside the other senior coaches Dai Fussell and Rhys Thomas, will develop and implement a coaching and playing strategy which can be adopted by the whole club, from the Under 7s to our first team.

Lewis has captained the Dragons on many occasions throughout his career and with 225 appearances under his belt we look forward to seeing him share his experience throughout the club.

On joining the coaching team Lewis Evans commented: “The Old Boys is a great club that has produced a long list of club professionals and international players.

“It’s the club where I learnt my trade so putting some time and effort into the club feels great. I am excited to work with the talent that is here particularly the young up and coming players in the successful youth team.

“Our first coaching workshop will take place on 21st September and we will be welcoming all new and existing players to join us for a training session at Yew Tree Lane.”

For any players aged six to senior level who would like to improve their own performance and be part of our new and exciting development plan, then please get in touch via our Facebook page or Twitter account to discuss joining our rugby family.
